Shop The Right Conservative Republican & Christian : Christian, Religious, & Inspirational Designs : Celtic Cross
One of the most ancient of cruciforms, the Celtic Cross was used by the Celtic Christians in Great Britain and Ireland. Here at Shop the Right, we decided to create an original knot pattern Celtic Cross. To this we have added the Chi-Rho. The Chi-Rho is composed of the Greek letters Chi (which looks like an English "X" and sounds like a "ch") and Rho (which looks like an English capital "P" and sounds like an "r"). These two Greek letters are the first two letters in the Greek word "Christos," translated in English as "Christ." This symbol has been in use for at least 1,600 years. Many scholars believe that the Celtic Cross is in fact derived from the Chi Rho symbol since the overlapped letters are similar to the equal-limbed cross at the center of the Celtic cross. No one is certain about where the distinctive circle of the Celtic cross came from, or what it means. For some, the circle in the Celtic cross may be a symbol of eternity and the endlessness of God's love. It can even represent a halo emanating from Christ. We hope our design means something to you, and that you can derive inspiration from it.
